Urban "PowerPoint"

Porto City Council is the municipality's local authority and its aim is to define and implement policies with a view to defending the interests and satisfying the needs and expectations of its citizens. As such, it seeks to promote the development of the municipality in various areas such as urban planning and mobility or even the environment and youth.

Considered the second largest in the country, its headquarters are in the Paços do Concelho building in Porto, more specifically on Avenida dos Aliados. The Porto City Council is seen as being innovative and technological, so its communication is carefully crafted to attract the public, which led it to research new communication tools to do just that.

Every two years, Porto City Council has to draw up a municipal land-use plan, in other words, it defines what is going to be built, which areas will undergo some kind of intervention, and so on. This plan is then shared, for example, with partners or even the media. Therefore, 3Decide, based on its experience over the last decade, proposed an innovative solution that would bring together all the stakeholders so that they could see the city in a unique way, in other words, from above.

This project had the collaboration of Ad Evolutio and Hugo Pires who played an essential role in processing information about the relief and geography of the city of Porto. The aim was to develop a technological solution that would not only facilitate the presentation of the city, but also make it possible to efficiently use an empty space in Porto City Hall. 3Decide therefore developed an interactive table with a 3D model that reproduces the entire relief of the city, onto which any type of content can be projected, such as historical data about the city.

The “Urban PowerPoint” is organized into chapters and modules, each with animations, making it possible to view them individually and in detail of the areas present.
